Sour Cream-Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup butter or margarine softened
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips (2 cups)
Heat oven to 350. Beat sugar, sour cream, butter, shortening, vanilla and egg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon.
Stir in flour, baking soda and salt.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until set and just beginning to brown. Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
