Thunderbirds

1965

(Opening narration) Jeff Tracy: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Thunderbirds are go!

Ned Cook: We're not hurt, but I can hear water seeping in from below. Brains: Of course! That's the answer! Jeff Tracy: The answer to what, Brains? Brains: Well, I've been trying to figure out why that area should suddenly collapse. Underground rivers! Scott Tracy: Underground rivers? Tin-Tin: Yes, Brains could be right!

John Tracy: I left the name of the guy to be rescued to last. Jeff Tracy: Why? Who is it? John Tracy: Eddie Houseman. Alan Tracy: Eddie Houseman? Scott Tracy: Father, he knows us! Jeff Tracy: That's right, Scott, he knows us. Alan Tracy: Does that mean we can't go forth, is that what you're saying, father? Jeff Tracy: No, Alan, we've done all we can to maintain our secrecy, but not at the cost of wasting a life.

Jeff Tracy: OK, boys. That's the brief. It's our first assignment, so make it look good.

Lady Penelope: I fail to see why you're still laughing, Virgil. I just don't like mice, that's all.

Commander Norman, London Airport controller: Crash crews return to standby positions! Let those aircraft burn! Fireflash is carrying passengers, they're not!

(the two Allington Bridge controllers witness Brains talking into his watch) Allington Bridge Controller: He's still at it, poor fellow. Seems to be under some delusion that he's in charge of the rescue. Dave Clayton: We're desperate enough, even to listen to him! Allington Bridge Controller: Yes, but he's just suggested they should fire missiles!

Virgil Tracy: If they crash-landed on the sea, we'd have picked up a distress call on their radio, unless... Brains: ... unless they were trapped in the cabin, and if the hydraulic system jammed the automatic escape hatches would not operate. Gordon Tracy: Do you realize what this means? Brains: I do, Gordon. They could still be alive, trapped in the flight deck at the bottom of the sea.

(Jeff Tracy and Grandma Tracy are watching Thunderbird 2 lifting off from the runway) Grandma Tracy: It's not going to be dangerous, is it? Jeff Tracy: Of course it's not going to be dangerous, Mother. There's nothing to worry about. Alan's got an excellent head for heights, and he's just going to fix the aerial now, that's all. Grandma Tracy: Well, there's nothing to worry about. Jeff Tracy: That's right.

(Scott Tracy has just electromagnetically wiped out a film tape from Thunderbird 1) Ned Cook: He's just bluffing! It's not possible! Joe: (dropping the tape spool) He wasn't bluffing, and it *is* possible! There goes your story, Ned!

Virgil Tracy: Thunderbird Two to Thunderbird One, do you read me? (Thunderbird One does not answer) John Tracy: He's got to have made it, he's GOT to. Virgil Tracy: Thunderbird Two to Thunderbird One, do you read me? (static) Scott Tracy: Loud and clear.

Parker: (to Lady Penelope) They say "if you go down well at Paradise Peaks, you'll go down well h'anywhere".

(Brains is driving into the London Airport under the pseudonym of Mr Hackenbacker) Brains: This is Hiram K. Hackenbacker calling Jeff Tracy. Come in, Jeff Tracy. Jeff Tracy: Go ahead, er... Mr... Hackenbacker. Brains: I am now entering the London Airport. Jeff Tracy: Good luck Br- I mean Mr Hackenbacker.

(Lambert, a worker at the Bank of England, is trying to call International Rescue, when there is a blast from a wall in the vault) Virgil Tracy: We're through! Lambert: (nervously) Who... who are you? Virgil Tracy: (to Lambert) You okay? Alan: Yes, we just made it. We're International Rescue. Lambert: (in amazement) International Rescue? I knew you were highly efficient, but... this is ridiculous!

(International Rescue just completed a rescue mission) Tower Controller: What an organization! No-one knows where they come from, but thank heavens they come! Yes, sir!

(Virgil has left Alan to take care of Chip) Chip: I like Virgil. He told me all about Thunderbird 2. Alan Tracy: Oh he did, did he? Well he shouldn't have. Let me tell you, young fella, you'll get nothing out of me from Thunderbird 3. Chip: So *you're* the pilot of Thunderbird 3? Alan Tracy: (meekly, realizing his mistake) Yeah. I'm the pilot of Thunderbird 3.

Virgil Tracy: Say, where's Tin-Tin, Gordon? Gordon Tracy: Don't tell me you haven't heard, Virgil! Oh, this charming flew in and he's really sweeping her off her feet! Virgil Tracy: No! Gordon Tracy: Yeah! Virgil Tracy: Was he as handsome as me, Gordon? Gordon Tracy: Nearly Virgil, nearly!

(repeated line) Bruno, Monte Bianco Hotel Porter/Waiter: It will be a great disaster!

(International Rescue has succeeded in saving the Fireflash aircraft via emergency elevator cars, but one driven by Virgil has crashed off the runway and is upside down) Scott Tracy: Are you okay, Virgil? (Virgil is trying to crawl right side up within his elevator car) Virgil Tracy: Okay, Scott. We made it in time. Scott Tracy: Great, Virgil! Just great.
