(The police are braking their cars trying to catch Sjadow.) Shadow: How pathetic. (He closes his eyes and flashes bacck to 50 years ago. a Gunshot is heard.) Shadow: (in flashback) Maria. Maria: Shadow, I beg of you please do it for me,for the all the people on that planet. Sayonara Shadow the Hedgehog. (back to present) Shadow: Maria. I still remember what I promised you. For the people of this planet I promise you... REVENGE.
Sonic: Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog...
Rouge: Do you think the Professor really created him... Shadow... to bring out the revenge on humans? Sonic: He was who he was. A brave and heroic hedgehog who gave his life to save the planet. Shadow the Hedgehog... Rouge: I guess you're right...
Sonic: Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog.
(Sonic arrives at the ARK research facility where Robotnik has Tails and Amy captive.) Robotnik/Eggman: Let's take care of buisness first, shall we Sonic? Hand over the Chaos Emerald slowly and then we'll talk about your girlfriend. That is if you really care for her. Sonic: (quietly) Handing over the fake emerald. I can kill two birds with one stone. (Tails nods) Eggman: Put the emerald done right there and back off. (Sonic smiles and walks) Sonic: You've turned into a big time villian doctor. (Eggman presses a button and causes a galss tube to fall over Sonic.) Eggman: You thought you could trick me with that fake emerald didn't you? Tails: So, how did you know it wasn't the real one? Sonic: Tails.
(Knuckles is walking around.) Knuckles: I feel some strange energy. (A green glow appears and Sonic teleports in.) Knuckles: Hey Sonic. Sonic: I wasn't sure if I could pull that one off. Somehow I managed to use the Chaos Control. Knuckles: Chaos Control? Are you OK? Sonic: I'm worried about Tails and Amy. I hate to ask, bu could you help them? This is our last chance. I got it before the cannon fires I'll slam dunk it in there.
Shadow: Maria, this is what you wanted, right? This is the promise I made to you...
Sonic: I found you... faker. Shadow: Faker? I think you're the fake around here. You're comparing yourself to me? Ha. You're not even good enough to be my fake. Sonic: I'll make you eat those words.
Shadow: What are you anyway? Sonic: What you see is what you get. Just a hedgehog that loves adventure. I'm Sonic the Hedgehog.
Shadow: You never cease to surprise me, blue hedgehog. I thought that capsule blew up with you in it. Sonic: What can I say? I die hard.
Shadow: You're adventuring days are coming to an end.
Gerald Robotnik: Now all of you ungrateful humans will feel my loss and despair.
Rouge: What are you babbling about? You call yourself a hunter? Attacking a lady? Shame on you. Knuckles: What kind of lady goes around stealing gems anyway?
Eggman: You're pretty persistent for a hedgehog, aren't you? You're still alive, huh? Sonic: Letting Knuckles pilot the shuttle over here was more dangerous than you'll ever be.
Eggman: As a child, I looked up to my grandfather. He was my hero, and I wanted to become a great scientist just like him. But... did he really mean to destroy us? Tails: I don't know, but what I do know is we all did it together. Eggman: You're right.
(Sonic and Tails break in the President's limo.) President: Wha... ? What the heck's going on here?
(Sonic and Tails jump in the President's limo from its roof.) Dr Robotnik: Sonic? What are YOU doing here? Sonic: Eggman Empire. Yeah, right. President: What the heck's going on here?
Shadow the Hedgehog: If you want to live, you will keep the emeralds where they are. The fake emerald is good enough for you. Rouge: Do you actually think that you're the real Shadow? Shadow the Hedgehog: No doubt. Rouge: Even your memories might not be real, you know. Shadow the Hedgehog: Even if my memories are not real, it's still me... Shadow. And I have to keep my promise to Maria. That's the only thing that matters to me now...
Rouge: So you did your homework, huh? I would say that's an invasion of someone's privacy. Shadow: I could say the same for you.
Shadow the Hedgehog: My name is Shadow. I'm the world's ultimate life form. There's no time for games. Farewell.
Sonic: The reason I'm in here is because of that fake hedgehog. Amy: You mean... that black hedgehog? Sonic: Did you see it? Where is it now? Amy: If I tell ya, will you marry me? Sonic: No way. Amy: I thought I had you this time.
